July 5, 2025 - There is currently a wildfire (Madre Fire) burning in the area of Highway 166, in the Los Padres National Forest in San Luis Obispo County. Highway 166 and Soda Lake Rd. are currently closed. Fire has a rapid rate of spread. Avoid the area.
As of 700hrs: Fire is currently 79,638 acres with 10% containment.
Multiple Evacuation Orders have been directed:
Zones: LPF-017, SLC-226, 240, 263, 264, 265, 298, 299, 300, 312, 313, 337, 338, 339 and 358
